A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR MCCONNELL - 4TH OF JULY

As we celebrate this 4th of July, let us pause to remember all those who have sacrificed to make this day possible. Today we celebrate our country’s independence from tyranny. As your Mayor, I encourage all residents of Vallejo, family, friends, and visitors to reflect on the true heritage of this day while enjoying time together. Proudly fly your flag. Wear your red, white and blue. Celebrate with enthusiasm or reflect peacefully. Act in love or cry in anguish. Be respectful and appreciate that is the benefit of the great experiment of this country given to you.

I also urge all Vallejoans to celebrate responsibly! Please put the fireworks away! Be safe.

The fire danger is great. There have been recent brush fires in the city which have already caused a loss of homes. Please help us make this Fourth of July free of incidents while keeping in mind the safety of our neighbors, the first responders, and the homes of Vallejo.
