How to File a Code Enforcement Complaint

There are several options available to file a Code Enforcement complaint. Complaints may be filed in person at City Hall at Planning & Development Services during normal business hours (Monday-Thursday from 9-3pm), complaints may also be submitted in writing by mail, and email, by phone at 707-648-4469 or online on SeeClickFix.

When filing a complaint with Code Enforcement, please provide detailed information including:

  • Describe the conditions you believe to be violations to be investigated.
  • Location of violation. Providing a correct address including apartment/unit number when necessary makes a difference on finding the address to be investigated
  • If the alleged violation exists in a backyard or area that a Code Officer needs access to please provide the address and telephone number of the reporting party who can provide access to view the violation

Anonymity

While reporting party names are important, we do not require you to leave your name and phone number for us to respond to the complaint. Your name and phone number allow us to re-contact you and obtain correct information when information is incomplete or incorrect.

It is Code Enforcement's policy to keep the source of the complaint confidential. There is a potential, however, that Code Enforcement may be ordered to reveal this information in a court proceeding.
