The VHA will not deny any family the opportunity to apply or participate in the FSS program on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap (disability). The VHA will not discriminate against other qualified persons because of their disabilities and, upon request, will make reasonable accommodation to allow participation in the FSS program. The VHA may decide that an accommodation is not reasonable if it causes undue financial and/or administrative burdens. A family is eligible for participation when the following conditions are met:
- Attend a mandatory FSS orientation meeting
- Complete and submit the FSS application and FSS assessment in a timely manner
- Attend pre-selection interview and complete assessments or assignments to develop the Individual Training and Service Plan
- Does not owe money to the VHA or any other Housing Authority
- No violations of any HCV family obligations/regulations, including Housing Quality Standards . Willing to pursue the goals of the FSS program
- Willing to enter into a contractual agreement with the VHA
