Green INFRASTRUCTURE plan feedback

September 2 , 2019

The City of Vallejo under the Federal Clean Water Act and the California Water Code must comply with the re-issued Municipal Regional Permit (“Permit”) that became effective January 1, 2016. That Permit has Provision C.3.j which requires the City to implement Green Infrastructure into the storm drain infrastructure through a Green Infrastructure Plan to be implemented by September 30, 2019. The plan is open to public comment until September 2, 2019. If you need additional information or want to provide any comments, please contact Robert Newman (Environmental Services Manager) at Robert.newman@cityofvallejo.net or 707-648-5410.

Street Sweeping Alert

August 15, 2018 - Until Notice is Removed

In January 2015, the Maintenance Division implemented the twice a month sweeping schedule to better serve the citizens of Vallejo while enhancing the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP), knowing that there may be times the additional service may not be provided due to unforeseen circumstances such as equipment failure, staffing levels, etc...the initial route (pre-2015) as the primary route.

2 out of the 3 Sweeper vehicles are out for major repairs. With only 1 Sweeper currently functional, street sweeping will be back to the once per month primary routes until further notice.

Increased Activity at Mariner's Cove

Ongoing until December 2018

Import of material to Mariner's Cove, located at the southwest corner of Mare Island Way and Tennessee Street, will tentatively resume on Monday, July 30. Work will be during normal working hours of 7:30 AM-5:00 PM. See press release for more information. DeSilva Gates Construction will continue to be the contractor responsible for hauling of the material. This latest activity will proceed intermittently through the end of September 2018. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Please be advised that due to the tight geometrics at the intersection of 29 and Tennessee Street, some larger trucks may need to use Curtola Parkway and Mare Island Way to get to the job site, but the majority of truck traffic should remain on High 29 and Tennessee Street.
