Measure V

The voter approved Measure B is a one percent sales tax to enhance City of Vallejo services, approved by voters on November 8, 2011. Measure B funds are budgeted as part of the annual budget approval process by City Council, and are allocated separate from the General Fund.  It is estimated that Measure B will raise approximately $13,655,000 in the current Fiscal Year 2015-16.  Measure B funds are used to resolve both resident and City Council identified issues and concerns within the City of Vallejo.

On November 17, 2015, the City Council directed staff to proceed with conducting a poll to assess community sentiment regarding a potential November 8, 2016 ballot measure re-authorizing Measure B.  Results of the poll indicated support (76% "definitely" or "probably" or "leaning" yes) for a measure to reauthorize a general purpose, ongoing one-cent per dollar sales tax.  On March 8, 2016, the City Council directed staff to return by June 30, 2016 with necessary actions to place the measure on the November 8, 2016 ballot.
